Maria Kabanova
Maria's background is truly international – born in Riga, Latvia, raised between Russia and America, now living in Barcelona, Spain. Maria's first poetry book (written in Russian and English) was published in her early teens. Soon she turned to screenwriting, selling her first feature screenplay while still in college. A UCLA film school graduate, she has written many successful films and TV shows, collaborating with Warner Bros. Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television, as well as Russia's top TV networks, producers, and Oscar-winning acting talent. A career in film doesn't prevent Maria from following her passion for literature. She continues to publish poetry and prose, gives poetry readings, and has recently started a poetry blog (now with over 18,000 subscribers and growing rapidly!)

It probably means that Monstrie's mum has to look after both of them at times...
